Metallica to play at the X Games

Metallica is planning their first concert in Austin in almost six years. The band has been booked as the lead band for the 2015 X Games. The X Games will take place between June 4th and June 7th. Metallica is joining a star studded group of celebs that will be performing at the famous extreme sports events. The current list of headliners for the event are Nicki Minaj, Talib Kweli, Kid Ink, Deltron 3030, Joywave, Pennywise, and the Glitch Mob. It is sure to be an amazing time for music lovers and extreme sports fans alike.
The band made the announcement today in a video with Tony Hawk. The leader of the band, James Hetfield made the announcement and stated that he feels that a large number or of fans like to skateboard. Other band members echoed his sentiments as well.
Metallica is one of the most popular bands on the planet right now. Their agreement to play this years X Games is sure to boost their popularity even more. The have not had a particularly successful album in years, but they manage to stay popular on the back of their extremely successful tours.
